Dulu saat Agnes berpacaran, dia justru mengaku mengalami kelelahan dan nggak bisa berkembang karena sering dilarang. Makanya, cewek yang baru saja melempar album keduanya, Whaddup A ini nggak ingin berpacaran dan memilih menjadi jomblo. “Belajar dari pengalaman tadi, lebih baik gue sendiri. Apalagi gue lebih berkonsentrasi sama karier ketimbang mengurus pacaran,“ ujarnya.

Tapi, cewek yang sekarang lebih akrab disapa Nez ini nggak antipati sama pacaran loh. Dia bakal memutuskan untuk berpacaran kalau cowok itu mampu membuat kondisinya saat ini yang jauh lebih baik. “Meskipun susah, gue bakal memilih cowok yang lebih segalanya dari gue. Misalnya, dari sisi mental dan agama dia jauh lebih baik dari gue,“ kata cewek Cancer ini.

The statement released by both parties of idols Rainie Yang and Mike He two days ago about them backing out of much awaited drama “Exchange Love” received boycott threats from many fans supporting the tandem especially after learning that the series is to go on with replacements. It is reported that Mike He is to focus on an upcoming film and his hong Kong debut while Rainie Yang is being groomed to be the love interest of Vic Chou in the highly anticipated F4 drama.

But fans almost came to a halt after learning that not only the actors would be replaced, but the script had been rewritten and instead of having young adults as the main characters, the story will revolve in a university campus focusing more on teenagers. The subplots of the original “Exchange Love” is to be followed with conscious changes here and there. Yet it seems to have clamed down the fans are the given choices of young, fresh and almost unknown actors to enter the scene once this drama starts to film April or May next year.

Top choice for the male lead Arron Yan is a member of rising boy band Fahrenheit. Fans were glad that at the very least is that he is one of the most considered actors for the leading guy role which had been originally offered to Mike He. Many had believed that he could give justice to the role left by Mike who was characterized to be spoiled, rich, rude and womanizing all at the same time. He is only twenty years of age but people from the internet believe that if he does accepts this role, he could overcome the popularity of co-band members Wu Zun and Jiro Wang.

To make the script fresher despite Mike and Rainie not being around, the writer adjusted the role of the girl into being a foreign exchange student who is to have a hard time coping into the Chinese culture. The original choice was actually Indonesian teen sensation, Agnes Monica but the producers thought they had found a much more suitable actress.

Eighteen-year old Maja Salvador is what intrigued people the most as her name was mentioned. The endless interrogation of her lack of Mandarin capability is the constant discussion but after the news of her possibly taking Mandarin lessons came up, many fans favored her to fill in the large shoes Rainie Yang left. The girl is already a teen actress in her home country and the producers spotted her after seeing her in a cable TV Filipino channel when she appeared in a drama anthology where they were amazed by her intense acting skills. The producers are eyeing her and it seems that even the Taiwanese fans who were disappointed by the change of decision of Mike and Rainie seemed to also agree with this girl.

But only the ratings would tell if this drama was worth it once it stars airing on the latter part of 2007.

There are rumors about her two possible substitutes for the drama, Exchange Love. It is widely talked about in the net, who could fill in best for Rainie. Others look at it from the perspective of who would look cute with Fahrenheit cutie Yan Ya Lun who is said to be Mike He's replacement, though it is not final as of the current. Two choices were very popular among the netizens, namely Indonesian teen supernova Agnes Monica and the dainty Philippines actress, Maja Salvador. Rainie claimed that if the people would keep on talking about the ratings game and boycotting, it was their loss. "I know the script by heart and it is very good, so good, it puts the plotline to shame. And isn't that what counts in a drama serial? That every episode has its own share of twist and turns to keep you glued to your seat? Well, it is what this is. The fact that the people creating this series are going out of the conventional drama doesn't mean that this is worth boycotting."

"Agnes is very good. I watched her on cable once when she sang on some music show. She sounds a lot like Shania Twain! Her voice is really global and powerful, to think that she is still quite young. I also saw an episode with her in the drama of Ho Ren Tong and she seems to be a total performer. She has what it takes to be a star. All I know about Maja is what I have watched on the net and those were very brief and few, but you could see her intensity as an actress. A middle-aged Filipina neighbor of mine rushed to me when she heard about the news of Maja possibly replacing me and she looked really glad. She said she watches her on a Filipino channel and that she was a great fan of the girl. She even met her when she last visited the Philippines and said that Maja was one of the nicest actresses she had met. If by any case, it is Maja who is to take my place, I think it would mark the entrance of a possible versatile actress in the e-circle. To be honest, Lin Yi Chen also surfed the net for info on her and now shes's rooting for her. Zheng Yuan Cheng likes her because he thinks she is very pretty and he really likes her acting style based on what he watched online as well. It is nice that both Yuan Cheng and Yi Chen see the advantage of letting a refreshing face with Philipine descent enter. But Hsu Weilun and Pei Lin think Agnes Monica would do better since she is already carving a name in the Taiwanese entertainment industry as she knows Mandarin and it could draw more audience share for the drama. As of now, none of them are chosen but both of the young actresses are very strong contenders. I like specific qualities from both but I won't choose who I like best."

Vario dan Agnes Panaskan BSM

DI bawah tatapan ribuan mata pengunjung yang memadati Plaza Bandung Supermal, skuter matik (skutik) Vario, secara resmi diluncurkan untuk pasar Jawa Barat, Minggu (10/9). Peluncuran dihadiri Johannes Hermawan sebagai Marketing Director PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM)dan Krisgianto Presdir PT Daya Adira Mustika (PT DAM) selaku maindealer Honda di Jawa Barat.

Ribuan pengunjung, tak beranjak hingga acara selesai yang menghadirkan kelompok musik dari kelas lokal hingga grup musik yang tengah naik daun The Changchuters, Club Eighties, Ever Nine, serta Agnes Monica.

Seperti peluncuran di Jakarta awal Agustus lalu, launching Vario di Bandung dibuat meriah. Selain menampilkan panggung hiburan untuk penampilan artis dan display pameran, bagian dalam atrium pun digunakan untuk panggung tambahan. Pengunjung pun bisa turut bermain dalam beberapa permainan yang ditawarkan.

Selain hiburan, dua pelajar putri Dini (SMA Bojongsoang) dan Lisna (SMA Baleendah) dinobatkan sebagai duta Vario untuk sekolahnya. Mereka terpilih sebagai penulis terbaik dalam ajang Honda Best Student yang digelar Juni-Juli 2006 lalu. Dalam pemilihan pelajar berprestasi tersebut, Honda menggandeng Dinas Pendidikan untuk memilih pelajar berprestasi itu.

Menurut Krisgianto, kehadiran Vario ini diharapkan akan memperkuat Honda sebagai pemimpin pasar di Jawa Barat. "Saat ini, inden Vario mencapai 5.000 unit. Saya optimistis skutik ini akan banyak diminati. Terget DAM sekira 5.000 unit setiap bulan," kata Krisgianto.

Menurut dia, tren saat ini ke arah sepeda motor yang lebih mudah dikendarai. Meski untuk total pasar, kelas bebek masih menjadi primadona pasar sepeda motor di Jawa Barat. (doe)***

Diusianya yang masih terhitung belia, ia sudah meraih sejumlah penghargaan di panggung hiburan. Third Album To Release Next Year
Sosok artis serba bisa ini memang sering tampil dengan berbagai kejutan dan berita baru. Agnes yang juga mendapatkan nominasi dalam MTV Music Awards 2006 ternyata sudah menyiapkan lagu-lagu untuk album terbarunya. Padahal album ‘Whaddup A?’ baru saja keluar dan sedang merajai tangga lagu musik Indonesia.

Penampilan Agnes saat ditemui di Hard Rock Café, Jakarta pada Senin 9 Oktober 2006 pekan lalu pun tidak seperti biasa. Rambutnya kali ini dibiarkan tergerai lurus dan busananya terkesan lebih feminin. “Sekarang aku sudah persiapkan album berikutnya. Aku perkirakan satu setengah tahun sudah selesai,” kata Agnes optimis.

Materi album yang sedang digarap itu ternyata tak hanya mengandalkan lagu-lagu ciptaan musisi lain. Agnes ingin mengeksplorasi musikalitasnya dengan menciptakan lagu sendiri. “Kalau lagu sih sudah banyak, tapi sampai sekarang baru dua lagu yang sudah saya persiapkan,” kata gadis cantik kelahiran Jakarta 1 Juli 1986 ini.

Dalam waktu dekat ini, Agnes berencana menyapa para penggemarnya yang berada di Malaysia dan Brunei Darussalam. Padahal Agnes sempat mengira bahwa lagunya tak akan disukai dan masuk tangga lagu papan atas di kedua Negara itu. Asal tahu saja, salah satu single-nya yang berjudul Tak Ada Logika berhasil merajai tangga lagu di Brunei Darussalam.
“Kalau di Singapura sudah beberapa kali. Tapi untuk di Brunei dan Malaysia memang belum. Tapi boleh juga nanti, kenapa tidak?,” imbuh Agnes sambil tersenyum.

Agnes International Album
Agnes is setting up her next album that will be out by the end of 2007. She hopes by that time the album can go international. She ha asked American musicians including Keith Martin to get involve on this album. Besides Keith, there are 2 American singers who will work together with her. But Agnes refused to mention their names. “I don’t want to talk about it till I can show you the proof”, she said.

Even though she has asked foreign musicians to work with, Agnes still feels there’s a lot of knowledge she should learn to go international. “What I do now is just one step ahead. It’s not a guarantee that it will work. This is just a beginning to go forward in effort,” she said humbly.
